Get ready for a wrestling update that's sure to spark some heated debates! The recent announcement about TNA Wrestling's new home at AMC Networks has left fans wondering about the future of its partnership with WWE. And here's where it gets interesting...
The Future of Wrestling Partnerships: A Controversial Twist?
TNA has confirmed the exciting news, revealing a multi-year deal with AMC Networks. Starting in January 2026, Thursday Night iMPACT! will take over the flagship station, running from 9 p.m. to 11 p.m. ET. But this move has reportedly triggered a 60-day termination clause in WWE's existing partnership with TNA.
Sports business insider Blake Avignon shared the scoop, claiming that WWE could end their collaboration, which has allowed wrestlers from both NXT and TNA to appear on each other's shows. However, TNA President Carlos Silva quickly denied these claims, insisting that the partnership remains strong.
The Takedown reached out to WWE officials for their take on the situation, but we're still awaiting a response.
The WWE and TNA Partnership: A Brief History
This partnership has been in the works since last summer, but it was officially announced in January. The deal was initially presented as a long-term agreement, with WWE taking center stage in TNA's press release about the AMC Networks media rights.
Several TNA wrestlers have made a significant impact on WWE NXT, including Leon Slater and Mike Santana. Former TNA World Heavyweight Champion Joe Hendry, now a WWE NXT star, was an early participant in the partnership, even facing Randy Orton at WrestleMania 41 and appearing in the Men's Royal Rumble.
The collaboration has also seen WWE NXT Superstar Trick Williams reign as TNA Champion, while Kelani Jordan's TNA Knockouts World Championship run recently came to an end. Williams, in particular, headlined two major TNA pay-per-views in 2025.
And there's more to come! Leon Slater is set to participate in the upcoming WWE NXT Iron Survivor Challenge.
Earlier this year, The Takedown reported that several WWE-affiliated networks, including The CW (home to NXT), were interested in acquiring TNA's media rights.
